SMS Terms
These terms cover text messages about towing and roadside-service requests, sent by towing and roadside-assistance companies that use ProTow.
Effective date: October 19, 2026
Who sends the texts
Texts are sent by the towing or roadside-assistance company identified to you when you request service. In these terms it is called “your towing company”, and its texts identify it by its actual name.
ProTow is the software platform your towing company uses to manage your request and send these texts.
What the texts are about
Texts relate only to your towing or roadside-service request. They may include:
- confirmation of your request and its reference number;
- a secure link to share your exact pickup location;
- a secure link to upload photos or video of your vehicle;
- your driver’s estimated arrival time when the driver is on the way;
- a link to view your invoice or receipt;
- for a scrap-vehicle request, confirmation of the request and a link to upload photos;
- a short follow-up if a call about your request ended before the request was complete.
This program does not include marketing or promotional messages. Marketing texts would require your separate consent, obtained in compliance with applicable law, and are not part of this program.
Your consent is optional
Your towing company asks during your service call whether you would like to receive these texts. Agreeing is optional and is not a condition of receiving towing or roadside service. See how text-message consent is collected.
Message frequency and rates
Message frequency varies with your request. Message and data rates may apply.
Stopping texts
Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving texts from that company. STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, OPTOUT and REVOKE work the same way. You may receive one message confirming that you have opted out. No further texts are then sent to your number from that company unless you reply START to resume them.
Replying STOP (or CANCEL) ends your consent to receive texts. It does not cancel your service request. To change or cancel your request, call your towing company.
Help
Reply HELP (or INFO) to any text for help. The reply identifies the company, explains how to stop texts and gives the company’s phone number for help, for example:
Example Towing: texts about your towing or roadside service request, sent through ProTow. Reply STOP to stop these texts. For help, call Example Towing at (555) 555-0100.
You can also contact your towing company directly, at the number you called for service, for help with your request or these texts.

Carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

The ProTow Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are not sold, rented or shared for marketing or promotional purposes; they are made available only to the service providers that help ProTow provide this service, as described in the Privacy Policy.
